Job Summary:
The Data Quality Manager will have a hands-on approach to understanding the intricacies of our data pipelines and tools and will be highly skilled in SQL, large datasets, applied statistics, data audits, and data management. This role uniquely combines the precision of science with the creativity of art to achieve excellence in data quality. Scientific methodologies and quantitative metrics ensure data accuracy, while intuitive problem-solving and innovative approaches ensure high client standards are met or exceeded, fostering a balanced approach to data quality. The Data Quality Manager will report directly to the Chief Data Officer (CDO).
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Quality Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive data quality strategy in collaboration with the CDO and cross-functional stakeholders that aligns with company goals. Establish data quality metrics and KPIs specific to our geospatial data and client expectations.
- Data Quality Processes: Design and implement robust data quality processes and standard operating procedures for data validation, cleansing, and enrichment. Ensure data complies with industry standards, client needs, and best practices.
- Leadership and Team Management: Lead, mentor, and grow a global team of data analysts and validators. Foster a culture of quality, problem-solving, accountability, and continuous improvement within the data operations team.
- Training and Development: Develop and deliver documentation and training programs to enhance the data quality skills of team members. Promote ongoing development within the team to keep up with industry advancements.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with engineering, product management, customer success, and revenue teams to address data quality issues. Understand client data quality needs and integrate feedback into quality processes.
- Audit and Compliance: Conduct regular data quality audits and assessments. Ensure compliance with required standards.
- Reporting and Insights: Provide regular reports on data quality metrics and trends to senior management. Use data insights to drive strategic decisions and improve data quality practices.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks related to data quality and develop mitigation strategies. Implement risk management protocols to protect data integrity and reliability.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience (7+ years) in data quality management, preferably in the location data or geospatial industry.
- Strong skills in SQL, data analysis, and data management.
- Experience working with large datasets and developing data quality processes.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience in leading and mentoring a team.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
