Director, Event Marketing

We are seeking a creative and strategic Director, Event Marketing with 10+ years of experience in event marketing to join our dynamic and wildly talented Growth Marketing team. This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of our event marketing strategy, including field events, third-party sponsorships, large-scale hosted events including our bi-annual flagship event, Think Summit, as well as our customer marketing efforts. The ideal candidate will bring a strong attention to detail, but also possess the ability to delegate effectively and focus on high-level strategy, partnerships, and delivering immersive brand experiences.
You will lead a team of experienced marketers, serve as the main point of contact for various go-to-market teams, and act as a key member of the Growth Marketing leadership team. Responsible for a large cross-section of pipeline, you will bring a data-first approach to strategy development and performance reporting. You are willing to work in the NYC headquarters 2+ days a week
Responsibilities:
- Lead and Oversee Event Marketing: Manage all aspects of events marketing, including large-scale hosted events in NYC and London (500-1000 attendees), field events, and third-party conferences. Ensure seamless event execution, from strategic planning to on-site delivery
- Team Leadership & Management: Oversee a team of 6 event marketers and two agencies. Provide guidance, mentorship, and strategic direction while empowering the team to take ownership of day-to-day operations. Ability to work from the NYC headquarters 2+ days a week
- Collaboration with Sales & Executive Leadership: Work closely with senior sales leadership and the executive team to align marketing efforts with broader business goals, ensuring that event marketing initiatives directly support our most important go-to-market initiatives
- Pipeline Generation: Events are one of the largest pipeline-driving areas at Movable Ink and this role will be directly responsible for generating, accelerating, and reporting on events-sourced pipeline
- Partner & Vendor Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key partners and vendors to create immersive and unique brand experiences that stand out in the industry.
- Creative Brand Experiences: Spearhead innovative, out-of-the-box strategies for events and experiences. Creativity is a key element in everything you do, ensuring each event and interaction is memorable and impactful
- Budgeting and Analytics: Manage budgets for events and customer marketing programs, ensuring ROI through data-driven decision-making. Regularly report on metrics and performance, using Salesforce and other analytics tools to measure success and refine strategies
- Event Management Tools & Software Expertise: Utilize Bizzabo for event management, Salesforce for tracking pipeline contributions, and other tools to streamline processes and reporting.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in events marketing and customer marketing, ideally within a B2B SaaS environment
- Proven track record of managing global, large-scale events
- Experience creating brand identities
- Highly detail-oriented with the ability to delegate and focus on strategic-level activities
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing a team of marketing professionals
- Exceptional creativity and a passion for delivering immersive and unique brand experiences
- Proficiency in event management software, Salesforce, Marketo, and pipeline reporting
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with senior sales and executive teams
- Strong budget management and analytical skills, with experience using data to drive decisions.
- Willingness and ability to travel; ability to come to our NYC HQ 2+ days per week
- Familiarity with the companies in Movable Ink’s partner ecosystem is a plus
The base pay range for this position is $180,000-$205,000/year, which can include additional on-target commission pay/bonus. The base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Stock options and other incentive pay may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, depending on the position ultimately offered.
