Senior Actuarial Analyst

Today, our comprehensive suite of products – including security deposit insurance, cash security deposit management, lease guarantees, renters insurance, and loss of employment insurance – continues to transform the renting experience, making moving easier, more affordable, and more transparent for all.

The Senior Actuarial Analyst will be a member of R+ J’s Risk team and will report directly to our Senior Director of Risk.

In this role, you will:

• Design and maintain pricing and underwriting models for multiple insurance products
• Develop and monitor reserving models to maintain reserve adequacy
• Leverage new and existing data sources to identify data features to improve our risk model and portfolio performance
• Partner with product managers and engineers to ensure data quality and accessibility
• Develop and maintain actuarial dashboards for key stakeholders, enabling real-time monitoring of performance and trends
• Collaborate with Compliance team to prepare and review state rate filing and other regulatory requirements
• Synthesize your work to effectively communicate the core takeaways and recommendations for the executive team and external insurance partners
  

We’re ideally seeking:

• 3-5 years of total professional actuarial experience in P&C industry
• Progress towards ACAS required. FCAS is a plus.
• Strong proficiency in scripting language and statistical software (e.g. SQL, R, Python)
• Experience with data visualization and dashboarding tools (e.g. Tableau, PowerBI)
• Familiarity with DOI requirements across multiple states
• Organized and able to efficiently prioritize, multi-task, and adapt in a fast-paced, often changing environment
• Resource, scrappy self-starter that constantly looks to improve / optimize, and work collaboratively
• Enjoys thinking outside the box and finding creative solutions to actuarial problems

Benefits:

Base Salary Range: $100,000 - $110,000

Individual pay decisions are based on a number of factors including qualifications for the role, experience level and balancing internal equity relative to other teammates.
