We are seeking an exceptional Senior Data Scientist to lead our data science team, with a strong focus on feature engineering, model selection, parameter tuning, explainability, and driving innovation through research and development. As a Senior Data Scientist at Socure, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our data-driven strategies, staying ahead of industry trends, and championing a culture of continuous learning and knowledge dissemination.

What you’ll be doing:

• Lead the development and optimization of cutting-edge models, with a particular emphasis on NLP models.

• Drive innovation in modeling techniques and methodologies, staying at the forefront of data science advancements.

• Spearhead feature engineering efforts to extract meaningful insights from complex datasets.

• Identify and create new features to enhance model performance and predictive accuracy.

• Take charge of model selection processes, ensuring the adoption of the most suitable algorithms for diverse projects.

• Fine-tune model parameters to optimize model performance and generalization.

• Implement and champion model explainability techniques, ensuring transparency and interpretability in our models.

• Lead research initiatives to explore new data science technologies and methodologies.

• Stay current with the latest literature in data science and incorporate relevant findings into our projects.

• Identify challenger models to benchmark against existing models and drive continuous improvement.

• Suggest and develop new features based on domain knowledge and data insights.

• Educate and mentor team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth.

• Disseminate knowledge through training sessions, documentation, and presentations.

• Understand the compliance and regulatory landscape, ensuring our data science solutions align with industry standards.

• Monitor and analyze competitor moves in the data science and AI space, providing insights to inform our strategies.

• Explore opportunities for patent submissions based on innovative data science solutions and methodologies.

What you’ll bring:

• Bachelor’s Degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics).

• 4-6 years of related work experience.

• Proven track record of developing and optimizing complex machine learning models, especially in NLP.

• Extensive experience in feature engineering, model selection, and parameter tuning.

• Strong expertise in model explainability techniques.

• Demonstrated ability to drive R&D initiatives and stay up-to-date with data science literature.

• Proficiency in programming languages like Python and relevant data science libraries.

• Experience with Tensorflow and/or PyTorch, two leading deep learning frameworks.

• Excellent communication and mentorship skills.

• Awareness of competitor strategies and moves in the data science field.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) and commensurate experience.

• Proficiency in building and interpreting decision tree models for insightful data-driven decision-making.

• Mastery of LSTM (Long Short-Term Memory), crucial in sequence modeling and time-series analysis.

• Familiarity with Transformers architecture and Masked Language Models, driving advances in NLP.

• Understanding of different embedding techniques, and the use of pre-trained models.

• Skill in text classification algorithms for organizing and categorizing textual data.

• Expertise in sentiment analysis.

• Proven expertise in fine-tuning Large Language Models (LLMs) for specific tasks.

• Experience in entity resolution techniques, ensuring accurate data linkage and integration.

• Experience with Spark and Databricks, facilitating efficient data analysis and model training at scale.

• Familiarity with Amazon Web Services (AWS), harnessing its cloud capabilities for data processing and deployment.

• Knowledge of infrastructure as code using Terraform, facilitating smooth deployment and scaling.

• Familiarity with Scala, a versatile programming language for building robust data pipelines.

• Familiarity with compliance and regulatory requirements in relevant industries.

• Experience with patent submissions.
