The Role

In this role, you will be responsible for architecting and building new features as well as improving existing ones that benefit millions of users across our platform. Engineers will work closely with product, design, and other team members to solve challenging problems and deliver delightful user experiences.

What You’ll Do

• Deliver scalable, highly-responsive performant iOS applications following Stocktwits’ Software Development Life Cycle
• Work with Product Managers, Designers, and Engineers to understand requirements and translate that into a pragmatic and effective technical solution
• Help improve code quality through writing unit tests, automation, and performing code reviews
• Proactively identify complex issues, take initiative to resolve first, and triage and escalate effectively within the broader team
• Own assigned projects from beginning to end to be delivered on-time and bug free with minimal support
• Assist in mentoring junior team members as needed
• Participate in on-call rotation
• Perform other duties as assigned

What You’ll Need

• 5+ years of professional software development experience
• 5+ years of experience building iOS applications using Swift/Objective-C
• Track record of shipping apps to Apple’s App Store
• Extensive experience with Xcode, Swift, and iOS development tools.
• Knowledge of common design patterns such as MVVM
• Familiarity with SWiftUI is a must and some experience with UIKit is desired
• Familiarity with analytics and monitoring tools
• Experience consuming services using REST APIs and websockets
• Familiarity with Media Playback and AVPlayer
• Strong knowledge of iOS UI design principles, patterns, and best practices
• Experience with memory management, multi-threading, security best practices
• Organizational and project management skills with a demonstrated ability to balance numerous projects while meeting tight deadlines
• Attention to detail
• Effective interpersonal skills, particularly in building relationships and working collaboratively across Product and Engineering teams
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
• Familiarity with CI/CD infrastructure and operations using tools like Bitrise
• Deep understanding of dependency management using CocoaPods/Swift Package Manager among others.
• Proficient in English with strong written and verbal communication skills (grammar & syntax)
