JOB TITLE: Vice President of Corporate Development

DEPARTMENT: Strategy

FLSA STATUS: Exempt


POSITION SUMMARY:

The VP of Corporate Development will lead the execution and evolution of Surf Air Mobility’s strategy through commercial relationships, partnerships and M&A activities.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:

  • Co-develop Surf Air Mobility’s corporate strategy.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with current and future commercial partners.
  • Lead M&A processes from start to finish: from target development to closing.
  • Lead or support negotiation of commercial terms with partners or targets.
  • Lead external and internal strategic programs and projects.
  • Recruit and retain a strong team to support these activities.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Executive level communication skills.
  • Strong team, process, and project management skills.
  • High degree of financial and valuation fluency.
  • Strong quantitative and data analytics skills.
  • Deep experience with due-diligence process.
  • Creative problem solver.
  • Commercial negotiations and deal structures.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • 10-15 years of experience in a relevant similar role.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • Advanced degree, such as MBA or equivalent.
Aviation industry experience, or in related technological frontiers is not a requirement, but will give a candidate an advantage.

Miscellaneous Requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to read, write and speak English effectively.
  • Ability to work within a 24/7 operation including holidays.
  • Ability to pass 7-year background check and pre-employment drug screen per airline regulations and/or company policy.
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. per the Immigration Act of 1986.

Physical requirements:

  • Must have sufficient vision and ability to safely perform the essential functions of the position in a normal office environment.
  • Must be able to communicate through verbal, written and electronic means.
  • Must be able to access filing cabinets, drawers, and shelves of varying height.
  • Must be able to move up to 25 pounds on an infrequent basis.
